Rishis Consultations is a subsidiary of Rishis Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and practice of Vedic wisdom, including Jyotiṣa (Vedic Astrology) and Vāstu Śāstra (AstroVastu). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our services at askrishis.org.
We collect only the information necessary to provide our consultation services:
- Full name and email address
- Phone number
- Date, time, and place of birth (required for Jyotiṣa consultations and the Rishis Reading)
- The question you ask for a Rishis Reading, your replies to the Rishi guide, and any voice recording you choose to use
- Property address (for AstroVastu consultations only)
- House blueprint or floor plan (for AstroVastu, uploaded securely)
- Payment information (processed securely via Stripe or Razorpay — we do not store card details)
- Usage data and cookies for site analytics
- To prepare and deliver your Astrology or AstroVastu consultation
- To communicate with you about your booking, scheduling, and follow-ups
- To send your consultation report and any post-session guidance
- To process payments securely
- To improve our website and services
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only with the service providers named below, and only as far as needed to provide the service you asked for.
Your birth data and consultation materials are treated as sensitive information and stored securely. We retain your data only as long as necessary to provide services and comply with legal obligations.
You may request deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing us at support@rishis.org.
We use standard analytics cookies to understand how visitors use our site and to improve performance. You may disable cookies in your browser settings at any time without affecting your ability to use our services.
If you sign in using Google, we receive your name and email address from Google to create and manage your account. We do not access your Google account data beyond what is required for authentication. Your use of Google Sign-In is also governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
The Rishis Reading is prepared with the help of automated services. To provide it, we share the following with our service providers, under their own privacy and data-processing terms:
- Chart calculation: your date, time and place of birth are sent to our astrological calculation provider (Prokerala) to compute your birth chart, divisional charts, planetary periods and transits.
- Interpretation and question review: your confirmed question, your replies to the Rishi guide, and the calculated chart data are sent to OpenAI to write your reading and to help clarify your question. Your name is used only to address you in the reading.
- Voice entry: if you choose to speak your question and birth details, your recording is sent to OpenAI to be turned into text only when you press “Use this recording”. Rishis does not store the audio, and you review the text before anything is used.
These providers process your data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. Your completed reading, your charts and your question are stored in your private Rishis dashboard so you can return to them, and you can ask us to delete them at any time. Readings are offered for spiritual reflection and are not a substitute for medical, legal or financial advice.
